In order to share knowledge and facilitate closer co-operation amongst the regional players, the Slovenian National Committee of WPC (SNNK) convened a meeting on 11th April 2014. The speakers addressed issues such as sustainability and competitiveness of the oil and gas industry in accordance with the EU Energy and Climate goals for 2030. The keynote speaker explained the evaluation of “Peak Oil” versus “Peak Consumption” and a forecast on energy consumption versus the developments of petroleum products and gas transportation in the region. A look at petroleum products retail services by the year 2030 was presented.
The Workshop was organised to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Slovenian WPC National Committee. The one-day traditional event was devoted to the opportunities and challenges of the petroleum industry in South Eastern Europe in the period until 2030. It was already the fifth in the row.
