The Congress, with the theme of Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero, will bring together thought leaders from across the global energy industry including Heads of State, Ministers, CEO's, Presidents & Heads of International Organisations, as well as engineers, academics and the NGO community. From 17 to 21 September 2023, participants will consider and debate the latest technical advancements and innovative strategies which will underpin the sector’s future transition to net zero emissions.
“Calgary will showcase new solutions for the usual challenges. Clean and sustainable energy, assuring security of supply at affordable prices is the transition that society demands. The Congress will provide a neutral platform for open and inclusive dialogue without prejudgements or preconceived positions.” says the President of the World Petroleum Council (WPC), Pedro Miras.
The recent call for papers for the Technical Programme, which focusses on how the transition will impact Exploration & Production, Petrochemicals, Gas, Transportation and Leadership drew in a pool of over 1,200 high quality submissions from an impressive 50+ countries.
“The Calgary Congress will continue the tradition of addressing the key industry issues including climate change and the environment and will come at a critical time after COP27 when the world is expected to transition to net zero.” states the Director General of the WPC, Dr Pierce Riemer.
